You will know the cost before we start.
Fixed wherever the scope can be defined, which is most of the time. Hourly only where it genuinely cannot be, and always with a ceiling agreed in writing first.
Three ways, one principle.
Whichever you choose, the figure is agreed before work starts and does not move without your written approval.
Fixed fee
Fixed wherever the scope can be defined — which is most of the time.
Consultation
Forty-five minutes to establish whether we can help, and what the route would be.
Fixedfee
Quoted on enquiry · credited against the matter if you proceed
- Video call or Bangkok office
- Written summary of the route
- Indicative cost per option
- A plain answer on whether to proceed
Defined matter
Company registration, conveyancing, a visa route, a dispute with a defined scope.
Fixedon scope
Agreed in writing before work starts · no variation without your approval
- Scope and fee fixed up front
- Local counsel instructed and managed
- Translation coordinated
- One named point of contact
- Written summary on close
Retained
For businesses and families with continuing needs across more than one jurisdiction.
Monthly
Set against expected volume · reviewed every six months
- Everything in Defined matter
- Priority response, same working day
- Multiple jurisdictions coordinated
- Renewals and deadlines tracked
- Quarterly written review
Hourly, capped
Hourly only for open-ended work, always with a ceiling agreed in writing first.
Assessment
Where the situation has to be understood before anyone can say what it involves.
Cappedhours
A ceiling in writing before we start · you are told when we reach 80% of it
- Ceiling agreed in advance
- Time recorded in six-minute units
- Itemised on every invoice
- Work stops at the ceiling, not past it
Open matter
Contested or evolving matters where the end point genuinely cannot be defined at the outset.
Cappedper stage
Re-quoted at each stage rather than running open-ended
- A separate ceiling per stage
- Written update before any stage begins
- You approve each stage before it starts
- Local counsel time quoted separately
- Stop or change direction at any stage
Retained
Continuing coordination where volume is predictable even if individual matters are not.
Monthly
Set against expected volume · reviewed every six months
- Included hours stated up front
- Overage quoted before it is incurred
- Multiple jurisdictions coordinated
- Renewals and deadlines tracked
- Quarterly written review
Four rules we do not vary.
Quoted before starting
No work begins until the figure is agreed in writing.
No variation without approval
Scope changes are re-quoted and signed off, never absorbed silently.
Third parties at cost
Government fees, counsel and translation passed through with nothing added.
Stop whenever you choose
You pay for stages completed and keep everything produced.
We add nothing to third-party costs.
Each appears on the invoice at the amount actually charged, itemised separately from our fee. Where a cost is not yet known, the estimate is marked as one.
Typical pass-through items. Amounts vary by jurisdiction and matter; these are the categories, not a price list.
| Cost | When it applies | Known in advance |
|---|---|---|
| Government fees | Registration, licensing, filing | Yes, published rates |
| Licensed local counsel | Any regulated practice | Yes, quoted before instruction |
| Certified translation | Documents not in the filing language | Estimated per page |
| Notarisation, legalisation | Cross-border documents | Yes, published rates |
| Court and tribunal fees | Contested matters only | Partly, scale dependent |
Note We do not take commission, referral fees or any other payment from the counsel, translators or notaries we instruct on your behalf. If we did, our recommendation would not be worth anything.
An hourly rate rewards the wrong thing.
It pays us for time rather than for resolution, and it leaves you unable to plan. Where the scope can be defined we fix it, and where it genuinely cannot we cap it in writing before starting.
About cost, plainly.
Describe the matter and we will price it.
Two or three sentences is enough to tell you whether it is a fixed-fee matter and roughly where the figure lands.
Sending this does not create a lawyer–client relationship. Nothing you write is shared outside the practice.
If a deadline is running Call rather than write. Fees are settled after the immediate step is handled.
